Discover Colwell Bay

If you’re planning an Isle of Wight holiday in the near future, then it’s time to discover Colwell. Located on the North West of the Island, the stunning bay at Colwell is a short drive from the harbour town of Yarmouth.

We’ve got some great ideas to inspire your visit and help you melt into relaxation with breath-taking views, popular places to stay, tasty spots to eat, as well as a bunch of water sports at your fingertips.

The Bay

Colwell Bay is the ideal spot for swimming or watching the world go by in a deckchair! The beach is sand and shingle with clear glistening water (that’s why it’s so popular for watersports). There’s a carpark close by and a handy beach shop and café too.

You’re spoilt for choice with Bays in this area. If you stroll along the promenade from Colwell you’ll be in Totland Bay before you know it, which is equally tranquil with a new opportunity for tasty food and views of The Needles Rocks. A Perfect spot to fill your Instagram or capture those holiday snaps.

If you start to feel peckish, you don’t have to leave that sea view, just head along to the Captain’s Cabin and Longbeach Bar, situated on the slipway. You can happily get your fix of breakfasts, delicious meals and drinks throughout the day. Insider tip: Get seated overlooking the beach and you’ll be mesmerised by the sunset.

If you’re in the market for fine dining, then book a table at The Hut along the Promenade and choose from their mouth-watering menu. Enrich your senses with grilled lobster or sirloin steak and take in those glorious views.
