Inspiring Isle of Wight Adventures Since 1861

For 164 years, Red Funnel has been connecting passengers between the Isle of Wight and Southampton. And while a lot has changed – our paddle steamers have been replaced with state-of-the-art vessels, our onboard facilities are a whole lot better than they were in 1861 – you’ll be greeted with the same warm welcome, standout customer service, and an adventurous spirit when you arrive on board.

Vehicle Ferry Service Status: The following sailings have been cancelled due to Limited Crew Availability ( Saturday 29th August 2026) 

Departing Southampton : 05:00 

Departing East Cowes: 06:30 

Important Customer Notice – Red Jet Services (Saturday 29th August 2026) 

Following a review of our ongoing preventative works to our main running berth and crew allocation plans, we have made some temporary adjustments to our sailing schedule to ensure we continue to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient service for our customers.

As a result, the following sailings have been cancelled:

  • Departing Southampton : 07:15, 08:25, 09:35 & 16:10
  • Departing West Cowes: 07:50, 09:00,10:20 & 16:45 

The following sailings have now been reinstated:

  • Departing Southampton – 13:15 & 17:20 
  • Departing West Cowes – 13:50 & 17:55 

We appreciate that schedule changes can be inconvenient and apologise for any disruption caused. These changes have been made as part of revised crew allocation arrangements to maintain operational resilience and service reliability.

Customers affected by cancelled sailings are encouraged to review alternative available departures and amend their travel plans accordingly. We recommend checking our website regularly for the latest timetable updates and service information.
