Frights & Sprites - Blackgang Chine

Blackgang Chine’s ghostly characters are causing mischief in Rumpus Mansion with their LIVE performance this October.

The ghouls are getting ready for Lady Edwina’s Spooktacular of the year! Take a tour around the mansion to meet the servants readying the halls for their many guests. Find Mrs Berry making a mess in the kitchen and the scatterbrained Gracey, dusting the vestibules. Mind that you don’t bother Franklin for too long or you’ll be gravely sorry, PLUS don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the pesky gremlins as they’re up to no good! Can you spot them all?

After a walk through the mansion, Lady Edwina will beckon you to the Rumpus lawn for the real party…

Enjoy an array of spooky activities including, Hook a Skull, Hoopla, Tin Can Alley, Wiggle cars, Fancy Dress-up and the Halloween Crafting Zone!

The Blood Shed
Step inside the secret hideaway of a bloodthirsty band of serial-killer smugglers, explore the rotting cabins and encounter the half-human incumbents who are dying to MEAT you…

Amphibious
Unleash the ancient spirits of the sea that have been enraged by the lives saved by the old oratory at St. Catherine’s, bringing with them the terrors of the deep and wreaking their vengeance.

Hexcavation
Discover the site of a recent archaeological excavation that has unearthed the skeletal remains of an ancient Pagan deity, invoking a primitive Pagan magical hex. Join the dig if you dare and discover the age-old secrets.

Under 16's will not be admitted. Guests aged between 16-18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18 at all times, and subject to a ratio of not less than 1 adult per 6 16-18-year olds.

Halloween Half Term Fun – Tapnell Farm Park
19 Oct – 4 Nov 2019

 

From Saturday 19th – Friday 25th the Farm Park will be open as normal with the special half term bug show’s plus special guests the Bat Hospital and The Snake Lady on selected days. Get up close and learn more about these marvellous creatures.

On Saturday 26th October the Little Monsters Ball returns to kick start the pumpkin week! This time there will be one morning rave and one afternoon rave. Grab your glow sticks, it’s time to party with your little’s! (adults must be supervised by a child!) Tickets will be on sale at the beginning of October.

Wanda the Witch will be opening her magical pick your own pumpkin patch on Sunday 27th October, running until Thursday 31st October, Halloween! Don’t buy your pumpkins from the supermarket – come and have some spooky fun when you pick your own down on the farm then ‘Pimp your Pumpkin’ by decorating it in the Pumpkin Tent! Bring your camera for lot’s of photo opportunities with Wanda and her scarecrow friends. Tickets will be on sale at the beginning of October.

Halloween Fright Night – Isle of Wight Steam Railway

Dare you ride the ‘Train of Fright during this, specially-themed WereWolf event! 

Dress-up as witches, wizards and ghouls, or don your best Bride of Dracula or Beetlejuice costume. Lurk menacingly on the platform, then take the ‘ghost train’ through the Island’s deserted night time countryside, passing darkened woodland and desolate fields.

Take a trip down to the colour-changing Haunted Forest and Woodland Creep but stick to the paths and beware of the ghouls lurking behind those trees! 

This year the Isle of Wight Steam Railway will be joined by SHADEMAKERS who will bring their own brand of magic and wonder to Havenstreet.

The Train Story Visitor Centre will, once again, have you running for the exits. Linger a while and hear some spooky tales. See if you can pick up the vibes of those long since departed but whose earthly bonds keep them here with us, such as a loco driver who still dwells on the footplate and a former passenger still ‘travelling’ in one of our carriages.

Greg Chapman and Bloodstone will be entertaining you in the Station Yard in their own unique style.

Enter the themed HAVEN FALCONRY CENTRE and be amazed at their 'Owl-o-ween' experience, all included in the ticket price.

This is a rare opportunity to visit Havenstreet Station at night and to take a night time steam train ride on the Railway.
