The Top Places To Grab Your Isle Of Wight Festival Essentials

With the big event fast approaching I thought prospective Isle of Wight Festival goers may need a little D&G on where to stock up on any forgotten festival essentials once they arrive here on the Island – like wellies/camping kit/waterproofs.

So here’s my top recommendations on where to grab any much needed extras…

Harwoods (The Square, Yarmouth PO41 0NS, 01983 760258) – trading since 1893 this treasure trove of a shop has everything from cool cooking/camping nik naks to full on waterproofs. Oh, and as a hardcore festival goer since 2002, Harwoods Manager Danny Arthur is the man to ask for any random festival necessities!

Well, Cowes is just brimming with chandleries selling great waterproofs (they should be as they’re for sailors) and an assortment of cool kit that may help you out over the weekend. An all round favourite for very sexy wellies is Joules (8 High Street, Town Centre, Cowes, 01983 280608).

Blacks (28 High Street, Town Centre, Newport, 01983 539 907) is a great town centre location to grab some camping and wet weather gear, as is Halfords in lower St. James Street (Newport, PO30 5HF, 01983 537182).

And for the ever so essential food and drink top ups – Lidl, Morrisons and Sainsburys are all a 10 minute walk away from the festival site.

But of course we all know it never rains on the Isle of Wight… so here’s to a fabulous sunny festival.
