Red Funnel selects BOOKIT from Hogia Ferry Systems
22-06-2007 Red Funnel has selected BOOKIT, a state-of-the-art reservation and ticketing system from Hogia Ferry Systems in Finland.
Scheduled to go-live this autumn for 2008 reservations, BOOKIT replaces three legacy systems used for ro-ro, fast ferries and accommodation bookings and is set to revolutionise the way customers can book cross-Solent travel and holidays. The introduction of BOOKIT enables further development of Red Funnel’s integrated multi-channel approach.
“We already provide a one-stop-shop for customers to and from the Isle of Wight but in order to offer dynamic packaging and a wider product range we needed to replace our technology with a system that would also significantly enhance the customers experience”. says Colin Hetherington, Commercial Director at Red Funnel.
John Bertell, Sales Manager for Hogia Ferry Systems comments “BOOKIT is a well-proven system for many ferry markets and is used by a wide range of operators throughout the world. Hogia is regarded as a reliable system partner due to its stable company structure and this contract gives BOOKIT a significant foothold in the British market, adding to its strong market share in the Mediterranean, Canada and on the Baltic Sea.”
BOOKIT is expected to go live at Red Funnel this October for 2008 trade bookings and will allow agents to experience first hand the many benefits offered by the new system.
BOOKIT is part of Red Funnel’s wider IMCaT programme, a £2.5m investment in IT infrastructure and systems over the next 18 months which is designed to increase sales and streamline internal systems and processes.
