Take to the skies with Sky High at Robin Hill

Sky High is a brand-new event that will see over 40 hot air balloons take to the skies over Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight this May half term (27th – 30th May). Taking place in partnership with Red Funnel Ferries, visitors can set sail to the Isle of Wight from Southampton and marvel at the sight of over 40 hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes, taking flight from and tethered in the Lower Valley of Robin Hill Country Park.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the pilots, walk inside the balloons and possibly even win the chance to take flight. There will also be kite making and flying workshops for the kids.

A special twilight event, Night Glow will also take place from 27th – 29th May, where visitors will have the opportunity to see the balloons at nightfall, lit up in all their glory, together with incredible sound and light production. Refreshments and live music will also be available throughout the evening.

Summer Slide at Robin Hill

Visitors to Robin Hill this May half term can also enjoy the Summer Slide – an epic 100m waterslide! Available from 25th May – 2nd June, visitors will be able to cool down as they splash and slide their way down Robin Hill. Swimwear and towel required!

Victorian Weekend

Celebrate the 200th bicentennial year of HM Queen Victoria and HRH Prince Albert with an array of special events held in East Cowes town centre. Taking place from 24th – 27th May, this jam-packed weekend promises to fill the Esplanade with entertainment, remind the town of its heritage and give visitors a weekend to remember. Activities include a birthday trail at Osborne House, a Victorian Day in Kings Square, a grand procession through the town and the Esplanade Festival.

Osborne House will also be hosting The Great Victorian Show from 28th – 30th May in honour of the 200th anniversary. Celebrating the innovation and enterprise of the era, with exhibits to excite and amaze, The Great Victorian Show will truly be a celebration fit for royalty!

Get Hands on with History at Carisbrooke Castle

Visitors to the Isle of Wight this May half term can get stuck into the tales that shaped our history. From 25th May – 2nd June, Carisbrooke Castle will be hosting an exciting week of hands on activities for kids, including junior jousting, trying on suits of armour and learning tactics and sword skills needed for an epic kids battle!

Unicorn Weekend at Tapnell Farm Park

On 1st – 2nd June, Tapenll Farm Park will be transformed into a magical wonderland as it welcomes some very special guests to stay, including Cloud the Unicorn, Harmony the Unicorn Princess and Sir Tristian of Tapnell. As well as meeting the magical guests, visitors will be able to enjoy hobby horse family jousting, archery, kids’ unicorn yoga, pony rides plus much more!

Wild West Week at Buffalo Creek

Wild West Week is coming to Buffalo Creek this May half term (25th May – 2nd June). Visitors can immerse themselves into the world of outlaws and sheriffs as they take over Cowboy Town. With entertainment for all ages, including a Bucking Bronco and Wild West Dance Workshops, everyone is sure to have a rootin’ tootin’ good time!
