Red Funnel annual Black Friday sale returns with 1/3 off ferry travel until 31 Oct 2021

Wed, Dec 2 2020

Red Funnel’s annual Black Friday sale returns from today, Friday, 27 November. Those eager to book ahead and save on 2021 travel will enjoy one-third off vehicle ferry travel for trips booked for travel between now and 31 October 2021.

The offer is now available online at www.redfunnel.co.uk and can also be booked by phone at 02380 019192. All bookings under the offer must be made by midnight on Friday 11 December 2020.

With the offer’s long travel window and no black-out dates, holidaymakers and Islanders alike can book their future travel dates through for the next 11 months. The offer applies to all future sailing dates and times including peak periods such as Christmas, Easter, summer and school holidays, as well as during key dates for events such as the Isle of Wight Festival and Cowes Week. The Black Friday offer is valid for private vehicle ferry travel booked on either of Red Funnel’s main fare types, including the recently upgraded Flexi Fare, which allows customers free amendments and entitles them to a full refund in the event their travel plans change.

The offer applies to trips of any duration, including short stays, long breaks and returns between the specified dates. There is no limit to how many bookings customers can make, and the offer works exactly the same for those travelling to the Island, as well as Islanders travelling off the Island.

Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, commented: “We debated if running our annual Black Friday sale was the right thing to do given present circumstances. The fact is that many Island residents will still need to travel over the next few weeks, so we wanted to ensure the discount they’ve come to expect at this time of year was still available. We also know that many people are keen to make travel plans for later in 2021 – be it to the Island or Islanders travelling off the Island. With this in mind and recognising our role in supporting the Island’s tourism recovery in 2021 we’ve opted to maintain our annual sale tradition. While the one-third off discount can indeed be applied to essential travel from now, the spirit of this year’s sale is very much about future travel – and of course, only when it is safe to do so. Accordingly, the key message in our wider promotion for this offer is all about 2021. We also remind the wider public to please heed the government’s latest travel advice and to consult the guidelines that apply to the Tier in which they reside.”

“Furthermore, it is our understanding that those currently residing in Tier 3 should NOT visit the Island for leisure and holidays at this time. As has been the case for many months, it is up to the public to observe the latest guidance and laws and we implore them to continue to do so. Our long offer window through to the end of October 2021 allows plenty of time to make future visits to the Island, so we call on the public to do the right thing and only travel to the Island when it is safe to do so, and guidance allows.”
