Red Funnel obtains “We’re Good to Go” COVID-19 industry standard mark

Wed, Jul 15 2020

Red Funnel is pleased to announce it has obtained the UK-wide industry standard and consumer “We’re Good to Go” mark from Visit England. The mark shows that Red Funnel is adhering to government and public health guidelines as it continues to welcome more customers on board ahead of tourism reopening on the Isle of Wight from tomorrow.

Red Funnel has demonstrated it complies with the guidance from Public Health England and has robust COVID-19 risk assessments and clear processes in place to keep customers safe.

The company, which provides a lifeline ferry service to the Island, has remained in operation throughout the pandemic and has ensured its operations and travel guidance consistently reflect the most current government recommendations.

Red Funnel recently released a video as part of its ‘Sail Safe’ campaign, highlighting its full range of safety and wellbeing measures which includes restricted on-board capacity of less than half of normal capacity on both the vehicle ferries and Red Jets.

Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said: “We are proud to have obtained this industry mark that recognises the hard work tourism and hospitality businesses have done to adhere to government and public health guidelines. The health and safety of our passengers has always been our key priority and we have been carefully monitoring guidelines for safer travel throughout the pandemic. We are excited to be gradually welcoming back more passengers on our ferries, as we have recently resumed our Hi-Speed Red Jet service and increased our vehicle ferry crossings.”
