Passenger numbers on the Hi-Speed Red Jet service from Southampton and West Cowes were up 8%. Other increases include a rise of 5% in foot passenger numbers on the vehicle ferry service and a 5% rise in commercial traffic.
Tom Docherty, Managing Director Red Funnel, comments, “We are delighted to report such a positive performance for this years Skandia Cowes Week. Although there were a record number of entries and some great racing, there was a noticeable increase in the number of spectators who clearly enjoyed the unique atmosphere and entertainment. We look forward to welcoming them back in the future to discover what else the Isle of Wight has to offer, particularly out of season.”
