Red Funnel Ferries declares its support for Southampton Pride
As a supporter of this weekend’s Southampton Pride Parade (August 24th), Red Funnel Ferries, the original Isle of Wight ferry provider, has changed its logo to reflect the iconic Pride flag colours.
To declare its support of the LGBT+ community within Southampton, the logo on the side of Red Funnel’s vehicle and passenger ferry, Red Falcon, has been repainted from the classic red to the colours of the rainbow as staff from the long-standing local business prepare to walk in this Saturday’s parade.
Commenting on Red Funnel’s support of the local Pride event, Red Funnel’s CEO, Fran Collins said: “Inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our culture and core values. Equal opportunities are available at Red Funnel to everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, belief, sexual orientation, family status or disability and the essence of the Pride movement underpins this same ethos.
“The Pride logo on our ferry, Red Falcon, which we’re dubbing “Pride Funnel”, represents so much more than Red Funnel showing its support for the LGBT+ community. It’s a reminder that it is vital to ensure that our workplace is a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for everyone. It’s a declaration and a commitment that we will continue to respect and strive to understand one another and embrace diversity within our workplace.
“It symbolises the fact that everyone brings something unique to the table here at Red Funnel, and it’s this variety of diversity, skills, life experiences, personalities and perspectives that will set us up for continued success.”
