Red Funnel awarded RoSPA Gold Medal
20-06-2006 Red Funnel, the original Isle of Wight ferry company, has been awarded a Gold Medal Award status by RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
Red Funnel has been awarded the status having achieved the Gold Award for five consecutive years. This is the highest safety accolade that Red Funnel has achieved to date.
RoSPA Awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they are also about ensuring that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place. They aim to reinforce the message that good health and safety is good business.
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager said, “Red Funnel has demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety management and are a fine example to many other companies. We would like to see more organisations following their lead by providing a positive example.”
Tom Docherty, Managing Director, Red Funnel, comments:
“We are delighted to have achieved Gold Medal Award status by RoSPA. This highlights Red Funnel’s commitment to the safety of our passengers and crew. Safety is a key part of our business, and we are thrilled that the Award reflects this.”
