Red Funnel appoints new Head of Food, Beverage & Retail

03-03-2006 Red Funnel, the original Isle of Wight ferry company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Murray Carter to the position of Head of Food, Beverage and Retail.


Carter joins Red Funnel from Sodexho Prestige where as General Manager he was responsible for a selection of bars, coffee bars, restaurants, event and banquet catering at Newbury Racecourse.

The new role of Head of Food, Beverage and Retail has been created within Red Funnel Ferries as part of the Group’s ‘On Course for Excellence’ programme. This aims to deliver the best possible on-board experience for passengers travelling on the Southampton to East Cowes and Southampton to Cowes routes. Carter will be fully responsible for the catering, beverage and retail offer and customer service onboard the Company’s fleet.

This new appointment is in response to changes in consumer tastes and the growing demand for a wider choice of premium branded food and drink items.
