Red Funnel Appoints new Chief Executive

05-03-2009 Red Funnel, the Isle of Wight Specialist has announced the appointment of James Fulford to the position of CEO.

Fulford started in February and brings a wealth of experience in the leisure and tourism sector and a strong strategic grounding to the role. He has previously held the position of CEO and Director at the Australian Stock Exchange listed Sydney Attractions Group, owner of the biggest international tourism attractions in Australia including Sydney Aquarium and was Director of Corporate Strategy for Rank Group Plc, at the time owner of Hard Rock Café, Butlin’s, Warners, Haven and Odeon .

He has also worked as a strategy consultant at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and held the positions of General Manager and Director of Oasis Forest Village, Cumbria (now trading as Center Parcs), Chief Operating Officer of Cineworld Cinemas, and Project Director for Jupiter Adria Private Equity, focusing on resort developments in Croatia.

His early career included 6 years in fund management, managing equity portfolios for Allied Dunbar Asset Management (now Zurich) and Murray Johnstone (now Aberdeen Asset Management).
