Kids go free with Red Funnel this half term

09-02-2009 This Half Term, Red Funnel is offering free travel for children to the Isle of Wight, saving families up to £9.20 per child (aged 5-15) on ferry crossings.

On the Island, families can venture to medieval Carisbrooke Castle, in Newport, where children can also gain free entry.

Children will love dressing up as a soldier, trying their hand at the crossbow and meeting the famous donkeys which work the waterwheel to this very day. Walk the battlements and enjoy fantastic views across the entire Island, and discover more about Charles I’s imprisonment within the castle.

Families can also save money by booking advance tickets with Red Funnel to Amazon World – the complete rainforest experience indoors, Brading Roman Villa and Dinosaur Isle, complete with interactive displays featuring animated life-size dinosaurs. Admission to Carisbrooke Castle is just £6.40 for adults and £5.10 for concessions. Up to three children under the age of 16 will be admitted FREE for each full paying adult or concession 14-22 February only. English Heritage members are also admitted free.
