Bookings up nearly 15% as Britons stay home post Brexit
22-07-2016 Red Funnel is experiencing a surge in bookings which are currently up by 10-15% in recent weeks as a growing number of Brits are staying at home this summer and taking advantage of some of the great offers currently available.
With fantastic beaches, outdoor activities, vineyards, heritage attractions, galleries and museums, the Island has something for everyone and there’s too much to do in a day! For those wanting to stay for longer, there is still availability with accommodation and sailings throughout the summer.
Family or friends looking to take a day trip can take advantage of 35,000 car day return fares to the Isle of Wight for just £35 each. The fare is valid for a car with up to seven passengers from now until 31 October 2016.
Up to 30% off longer stays
Red Funnel is also offering a range of summer savings with as much as 30% off ferry inclusive holidays. The promotion includes holiday parks, hotels, guest houses and self-catering accommodation.
For example, a couple can stay at the St Maur guesthouse in Ventnor between 12 July and 24 August, for just £64 per person, per night including ferry travel, when staying for four nights, bed and breakfast.
For families, you can save 20% with Away Resorts at their Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park near Bembridge for 3, 4, 7 or 14 night stays between 12 July and 24 August.
Jonathan Green marketing and communications director at Red Funnel Ferries said: “Red Funnel has experienced a surge in enquiries and bookings which are 10-15% up in recent weeks. We are currently running some very attractive offers on our website which is stimulating interest. Feedback suggests many customers are opting for day trips from home or staycations with over-riding factors being the weak pound and the general political instability and safety concerns surrounding travelling abroad. The recent good weather has also helped and the Isle of Wight looks set for a bumper summer this year.”
