Red Funnel announces Acoustic Isle live music programme
01-03-2016 Acoustic Isle, the Isle of Wight's acoustic music festival has spilled out of the Island's pubs and restaurants and onto Red Funnel's ferries with more performances from exciting local artists planned this weekend (4-6 March) to entertain passengers on board.
Acoustic Isle celebrates the Isle of Wight's strong music and rock festival heritage, showcasing the best of local talent, and features over 100 live and acoustic performances over 10 nights in a multitude of venues, including seven musicians and bands that played for Red Funnel passengers last weekend (26 - 29 March).
Artists performing from Friday 4 March include 15-year-old singer-songwriter Nicole McNally from Bournemouth, indie-folk singer Lee Rasdall-Dove and Accrington Stanley, a popular indie-rock band, whose members include Red Funnel deck hand, Chris Walsh.
Five artists will take to the deck to entertain passengers travelling to and from the Isle of Wight. The musical sessions take place inside the top deck lounges on Red Falcon and begin at 16:30 on Friday, 12:00 on Saturday and 13:30 on Sunday.
Anyone who wants to continue their musical journey will be able to find performances in many of the intimate friendly pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants in some of the Island's most stunning locations.
Jonathan Green, marketing and communications director, said: "We are delighted to close Acoustic Isle Festival 2016 with relaxing, unplugged performances from some of our favourite local musicians on board Red Falcon. It's certainly one of the more unusual locations they will have performed in.
"Last weekend saw seven other artists perform on board the vehicle ferries to great applause - it's a fantastic way to showcase the musical talent the Island is famous for and entertain music lovers as they travel in style across the Solent."
