Looking for Halloween-themed activities to keep the kids entertained? Frights & Sprites offers plenty of themed activities including Halloween crafting, a boo maze and a Halloween quest to keep your little ghosts and ghouls occupied!


Blackgang Chine’s Frights & Sprites is back! The family-friendly event will take places throughout the October half term. Attend from 11am-3pm each day.

Brave the Rumpus Mansion and watch the ghostly characters cause mischief in their LIVE performance. head towards the hall of mirrors and discover the spookiest of discos which goulish gremlins scattering the floor.

Meet Cedric the Dragon and our very own Fairy Queen whilst taking part in an array of spooky activities! Don't forget to put your best costume on too, there is going to be a best fancy dress competition each day!

Getting to Blackgang Chine is pretty straightforward from Southampton.

On foot - hop aboard a Red Jet Hi-Speed passenger sailing from Southampton to West Cowes (it takes 23-25 minutes). On arrival in West Cowes, Southern Vectis operate frequent buses from West Cowes to Newport (service 1). Change at the bus station in Newport for service 6 to Blackgang. Taxis are also available outside the East & West Cowes terminals. For car hire, we recommend Enterprise - they will pick you up from either terminal if you tell them your arrival time.

By car - catch the hourly Red Funnel Vehicle Ferry sailing from Southampton to East Cowes, the crossing takes 55-60 minutes. On arrival, head south along Dover Rd, take Castle St to Well Rd/A3021, follow A3021, A3054 and A3020 to Niton Rd in Rookley. Continue on Niton Rd to Godshill, continue on Appleford Rd and then tke B3399 to Blackgang Chine (PO38 2HN). The journey will take 30-35 minutes.
