The Memorial Ploughing Match first took place in 2009 at Mottistone Manor Farm to remember four ploughmen who were members of the Isle of Wight Traction Engine Club who sadly all passed away in 2008. The event was a great success and has run every year since raising significant sums for the Isle of Wight's Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The entrance donations and any further funds raised (after expenses) are given to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and in the first year over £2,000 was raised.
