Each July artists and crafts people from across the Isle of Wight open their studios, homes and exhibits in public venues over 11 days. You will have the opportunity to meet local artists, see their work and learn all about their techniques and passions that inspire them.
Open Studios is a free event and welcomes you to view and purchase an excellent range of work from local artists and creators including paintings, sculpture, print-making, photography, textiles, jewellery and ceramics.
Much is inspired by the sea and landscapes of the Island, with many other subjects, to intrigue you with the imagination and skill involved.
Studios and other venues across the Isle of Wight are free to enter and you will have a warm Island welcome. Much is for sale in all price ranges and you may find an artwork you must have! Artists will discuss their work and methods and many offer courses.
The Open Studios yearbook is free and found all over the Island from libraries, galleries, tourist points and venues, giving details of the artists and where to find them. Area maps help you plan an art trail and you will visit many beautiful parts of the Island.
The Open Studios are varied, from homes and work rooms to gardens and public venues, so look out for the red bunting, meaning you have arrived.
