Events taking place between 24th – 27th May include:
From May 24th (10am – 5pm) – Osborne House Birthday Trail
The trail takes place in the house and exhibits gifts exchanged between Victoria & Albert
(4:30pm) – Opening of the Queen Victoria Trail
The Mayors of Coburg & East Cowes and her excellency, The Indian High Commissioner will open the trail entrance grounds at Osborne House. This is followed by the first guided tour on the trail.
May 25th (9:30am) – Grand Exhibition
The Queen Victoria lifeboat on display outside the Town Hall
(10am – 3pm) – Victorian Day
Kings Square, music and children’s swing boats, Best Dressed Victorian, Morris dancers in the square and around the Umbrella tree.
(7:30pm) – Town Show
Victorian Time Machine at the Town Hall – Tickets £5 at the door.
May 26th (9:30am – 5pm) – Grand Exhibition
At the Town Hall
(10am) – RNLI Inshore Centre Open Day
Tours of the Lifeboat Manufacture Centre, music and RNLI display
(12pm – 9pm) – Grand Procession
Leading from Sovereign Gate, Osborne House, down York Avenue through the town and along to the Esplanade. Horse and carriages, marching bands & more.
(12pm – 9pm) – Esplanade Festival
Live music, over 40 charity and trade stalls, children’s entertainers and The Horse Box Theatre Company. Morris dancers, and an RNLI display (£2.50 at the gate)
27th May (9:30am – 3:30pm) – Town Grand Exhibition
At the Town Hall
(10am) – Community Beach Clean
(7pm) – Talk on Marie of Edinburgh, Queen Victoria’ grandchild and the last Queen of Romania.
Presented by Dr Susan House-Wade at St Mildred’s Church. Arrive at 6:15pm
