Please note the following about what to expect:
- Boarding / Disembarking: All vehicles will be loaded / unloaded via our bottom (E) Deck only.
- Boarding procedure: Foot passengers will need to board the ferry via our bottom (E) deck, and take the stairs to the passenger accommodation.
- Mobility Assistance: Please contact [email protected] prior to your day of travel if you have difficulty with stairs or need to use the lift.
- Toilet Facilities: Will be available at Berth 25 and Southampton Terminal 1 as normal.
- Food & Drinks: Will continue to be available on board and in Terminal 1 as normal. There is no availability at Berth 25.
The works we are undergoing at Southampton Terminal 1 during this time will enable us to undertake essential maintenance to our shoreside infrastructure. We appreciate your support in adapting your journey during the impacted dates.

Travelling with a vehicle
Travelling from Southampton to East Cowes
During this time, we will still need you to check in for your crossing as per usual at our Southampton vehicle ferry terminal.
Please arrive between 30-60 minutes in advance of your booked sailing - due to the extended embarkation times, we are unable to guarantee travel on your scheduled sailing if you arrive less than 30 minutes in advance.
Following check in, we’ll hold you back until we’re ready to send you to Berth 25. You’ll also be given a boarding hanger for your window, which will play an important part in our loading process.
Please note that all traffic arriving directly to Berth 25 without having been checked in at our main terminal first will be sent back to complete the check in process.
To give you some idea of where you’ll be going (once we've checked you in and instructed you to proceed), please see the Departures Map below. Using your sat nav? Enter post code SO14 3ZH (for National Oceanography Centre), then follow signs to Berth 25.
Please don’t go to Berth 25 until our ground teams have advised that we are ready to receive you.

Travelling from East Cowes to Southampton
If arriving into Southampton via East Cowes, please note that you will exit via Dock Gate 5, per the Arrivals Map below. Outdoor signage will also be displayed to mark the route. Please continue to arrive 30-60 min before your crossing as normal.

While we do not anticipate any disruption to our service and timetable and are committed to ensuring your journey is as smooth as possible, we do thank you for your cooperation and understanding should any unexpected delays arise during this time.
Travelling as a Foot Passenger
We will be operating a shuttle bus service between our main Southampton Terminal and Berth 25 for vehicle ferry foot passenger.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled sailing time to allow for transfer and boarding. The bus is scheduled to depart our Southampton Terminal 15 minutes before each sailing, and late arrivals will have to wait until the following sailing.
Due to safety considerations in place as per ABP (Associated British Ports) passengers will not be permitted access on foot to/from the port area and must use the shuttle bus. Shuttle services will depart from outside our terminal building near the bus and taxi area. The bus service will be accessible for those with mobility needs, including accommodation for wheelchairs and prams.
Please Note: Arriving into Southampton from East Cowes: Foot passengers arriving from East Cowes to Southampton will also disembark at Berth 25 on the dates above, and will need to board our free shuttle bus service back to Terminal 1 in order to safely and efficiently exit the area. Those arranging to be picked up should make arrangements to meet their party at Terminal 1.

While we do not anticipate any disruption to our service and timetable, and are committed to ensuring your journey is as smooth as possible, we do thank you for your cooperation and understanding should any unexpected delays arise during this time.
