Right in the middle of Shanklin’s High Street sits Morgan’s, a popular restaurant for locals and visitors alike with an airy interior, modern furniture and pale yellow/green street frontage. Known especially for local seafood and shellfish, Tim Morgan has been serving his top notch food here since 2006.
After experience in several top London restaurants, including working alongside renowned Chef Marco Pierre White, Tim returned to the Isle of Wight to realise his dream of opening his own restaurant. His passion comes through in his reviews, with many customers likening his food to that of the top eateries in London.
Morgan’s source good quality ingredients, often from Island producers, and have an extensive menu as well as a daily specials board that especially features fresh local seafood. There is a classic and modern Italian flavour to the menu that also offers popular, traditional British dishes and food from further afield and a good wine list to complement.
Dark wood tables, high backed chairs and bright white crockery give a very professional and clean look to the restaurant, which features art prints of wine bottles on the walls. Large picture windows to the street let in a lot of light and in the evenings subtle lighting gives a warm glow.
Open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner, Morgan’s is closed on Sunday and Monday. It is best to book as the restaurant is very popular and it is worth noting that they are child friendly.
