Taking the Leap
Our staff pride themselves on their commitment, and some decided to face their fears by taking part in a charity skydive – jumping out of a plane from 15,000 feet in the air!
It costs £9000 a day for our Charity of the Year, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to maintain their life-saving services and we’ve made it our mission in 2017 to raise as much of that as possible.
Kristine, a member of the Hi Speed team, took part in the jump on the 26th of August in Salisbury.
"Me and my other half four months ago, suddenly, out of blue decided to book ourselves for a skydive. Despite being petrified of heights, I love feeling the adrenaline rush.
When I was at work on the Red Jets, I saw a video about the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and how much it costs them just to start the day. That's when I decided I could raise money for them and do something stupid and crazy - to do skydive for good cause.”
"I had an amazing response from Hi Speed passengers and in total I raised £3288.
I met a lot people who have used the Air Ambulance or their family members and friends have been airlifted.
When the day came for the jump, I was surprised how calm I actually was. We had amazing weather and amazing people on the ground and in the air that day. I have never done anything this crazy and definitely won't stop.”
Kristine is now planning her next charity skydive for spring.
