Catering Assistant

Southampton-based | Full time | Permanent, Fixed or Seasonal | £20,748 per annum

Stores Operative

32 Hours / Full time / Permanent / 15,808 annual salary

Warehouse/Stores team are on the lookout for an Operative to join them in a permanent capacity, on a 32 hour a week contract based on 5 of 7 days. In this role, you will be working in the heart of our business, supporting teams across all functions to ensure the smooth running of the operation.

You will be the type of person who enjoys working in a vibrant, energetic environment with the ability to manage your own time effectively. You will get to engage with stakeholders throughout the business through the receiving, storing and distributing of goods that come into the operation.

The role requires someone who enjoys working in an intensive manual handling environment, as carrying and moving stock is a key part of the role. Deadlines can be tight so working quickly with precision and attention to detail is important, especially during stock takes and auditing periods.

Engineer Officer

41 Hours / Full Time / Permanent / 38,333 annual salary

We are currently recruiting for an Engineer Officer on a full time basis.

You’ll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, together with all technical on-board systems. Other duties will include the maintenance of galley and passenger services equipment, fabric maintenance of machinery spaces and receipt of fuel oil and lubricating oil bunkers. In addition, you’ll be expected to assist the deck crew with the operation of the hydraulic equipment associated with loading practices.

You will on occasion be required to relieve Chief Engineers when they are on leave.

You will need a minimum of an STCW95 EOOW certificate with recent seagoing experience, and should have a good working knowledge of the maintenance requirements of medium speed diesels and their associated electro-hydraulic systems, as well as a working knowledge of computer systems.

You must also be able diagnose and rectify faults in a wide range of machinery, including propulsion systems. Good communication skills are paramount as are excellent written and verbal skills.

Hours are based on a 41 per week, working on a rostered shift system covering a 22-hour operation, over 7 days a week. Accommodation isn’t available on-board so it’s key that you reside a commutable distance from our Southampton terminals.

Hi Speed Technician

Full Time | Permanent | £35,818 annual salary

This position will involve working on our Hi Speed Craft, as an integral part of the maintenance team responsible for the operation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, together with all Technical on-board systems.

Good communication is paramount and candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills, and training will be provided once you start the role.

Duties will include:

  • To perform planned maintenance on MTU engines series 4000 and 2000 as well as diagnose faults and repair on board technical equipment
  • To start and shut down hi-speed crafts as required.
  • To monitor performance of machinery and technical systems, helping to maintain log books and maintenance records
  • To carry out regular inspections of vessel machinery spaces and to report any defects or leakages
  • Responsible for cleanliness of vessel machinery spaces
  • Responsible for keeping control of tools and spare parts
  • To assist the technical Superintendent as required
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned times to times.
