Red Funnel Holidays launch new website

15-03-2004 - Red Funnel has recently launched a new Isle of Wight holiday section to its award winning website.

The new site at offers the benefits of dynamic packaging, enabling customers to create and book their own unique ferry inclusive holiday. Accommodation, outdoor activities (including sailing, kitesurfing and cycling) car hire, insurance, event or attraction tickets, maps & guides etc can all be added to the shopping basket as required and at checkout, all items can be paid for securely in one single transaction.

The new site gives users a huge insight into the Island, providing a wealth of information on over 100 properties and activities. A powerful search feature allows establishments to be selected by name, type, location, price or by their brochure reference. Pre-sorted lists give quick access to properties with conference facilities, properties suited to the business market and to those on the mainland.

Choosing where to stay can often be a difficult decision but the 'Email a Friend' facility allows entries to be quickly sent to others, helping everyone choose their perfect holiday. It's possible to add up to 4 preferred establishments to a shortlist, compare their features and book up to 3 - ideal for customers looking for a multi-centre holiday. A number of properties are also featured in Southampton, allowing people to enjoy a night or two in the South's premier city before changing gear and heading across the Solent. Integrated mapping and route planning is also available for all featured establishments, providing customers with a printable journey plan to their holiday destination from anywhere in Europe.

It is also possible for online customers to book event tickets with accommodation including the Isle of Wight Garden Show at Osborne House in May and the Ribex Boat Show and Nokia Isle of Wight Rock Festival in June. Late availability offers are shown in a dedicated section and are continuously updated.

Red Funnel's website won the Award for Excellence for the Best Tourism Website at the Tourism South East gala awards ceremony in October 2003.
