Getting to Southampton by train
Southampton Central is a busy station hub with services provided by South West Trains, First Great Western, Cross Country and Southern. CityLink, a free shuttle bus operates every 15 minutes between the station and Red Funnel's ferry terminals on Town Quay. Aprroximate journey time: 10 minutes.
Integrated ticketing: Did you know that both East Cowes and West Cowes are part of the national rail network? This means you can buy a single, day return or period return fare from any train station ticket office, rail appointed travel agent, self-service ticket machine or train company telesales service which includes ferry travel between Southampton & East Cowes or Southampton & West Cowes.
South West Trains operate frequent services on the line between Weymouth and London Waterloo (Clapham Jct, Woking, Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton Airport, Southampton Central, Bournemouth Poole, Weymouth). Approximate journey time between Southampton Central and London Waterloo is 75 minutes. Note: Eurostar services to and from Brussels, Paris and Lille have moved to St. Pancras station.
Cross Country Trains operate between Scotland, the North, Midlands and Birmingham; First Great Western run from South Wales through Bristol and Salisbury; South West Trains run services from Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth and Southern provide services to Portsmouth and Brighton.
