Voting is open for Red Funnel's Charity of the Year
Thu, Dec 22 2022
The vote is now open for the public in deciding Red Funnel’s 2023 charity of the year. Following an application process, three charities have been shortlisted by team members across Red Funnel for this years’ competition; RSPCA (Isle of Wight Branch), Independent Arts, and Aspire.
Every year Red Funnel encourages local Island charities to apply to be the Isle of Wight ferry operator’s charity partner for the forthcoming year. Red Funnel supports more than 30 charities, but each year it focuses its fundraising initiatives on one charity, which is chosen in a public vote.
Fran Collins, Chief Executive Officer at Red Funnel, said: “We are excited to announce voting is now open for our charity of the year. 2023 marks the ninth year we have offered the charity of the year scheme. In that time, we have worked with some superb local charities, including Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, Mountbatten Hospice, Isle of Wight Independent Lifeboats, and this year’s charity, Young Lives vs Cancer.
“Partnering with Isle of Wight charities is extremely important to us and we recognise our responsibility in supporting local causes, close to the hearts of our teams and customers. We look forward to getting behind the organisation the public chooses and continuing to help to make a difference in 2023.”
