Spring Has Sprung
I haven't been able to stop myself from popping on my much neglected walking boots, packing up the old faithful and much loved Thermos flask and heading out to ramble about in our exceptional spring air.
I’ve been on a mission of late, to spot as many signs of spring bursting into life as I can. It's certainly cleared those pesky winter cobwebs away and lifted the soul. It's official. Spring has undoubtedly arrived on the south side of this sunny isle.
There's been plenty to enjoy on my walks; from the cool, early spring sun kissing my skin, the not so gentle wind blowing my hair into a great place for birds looking for a nest. From snowdrops to daffodils, sand leeks to magnolias as well as loads of wildlife, including birds nesting, (not only in my hair). Hares ‘boxing’ and lambs gambolling in the fields and it's still only early March.
Why don't you pack up your Thermos flask, dust off your walking boots and head on out to see what you can spot bursting into life on this beautiful Island. Keep a look out for lambing days and spring nature walks advertised in the local press, I am sure to indulge in one myself.
