The Island is full of unique history, from dinosaurs to Carisbrooke Castle, but me and my friends wanted to explore a new side to the history we all knew. We came across an abandoned 1960s holiday park in Atherfield Bay, and we were instantly drawn in by the dark and eerie aesthetics of the place.

I decided to create a cinematic film of us exploring the derelict park, we spent at least 3 hours discovering more and more hidden gems within the park.

In the video you can see that the old ballroom has now been reinvented into a make-shift skatepark and the camp’s outdoor swimming pool is now stagnant and bleak, but it really did allow us to gain an insight into what holiday life would have been like when this camp was still in use.
