Top 5 New Year’s Resolutions

Everybody loves to set themselves new goals and make plans when it comes to the New Year. Knowing how hard it can be to get started and maintain your resolutions, we've come up with our Top 5 that are highly achievable and perfect for welcoming in the New Year and a new you!

1. Set Goals, Plan Ahead...

Book your next trip to the Isle of Wight – do it now so you’ve got something to look forward to! Find a cosy cottage with an open fire and views of the coastline from the National Trust, a great glamping holiday in one of Tom’s Eco Lodges at Tapnell Farm or a Short Spring Break from Red Funnel’s website.

2. Learn a New Skill...

Check out Tiny Homes Holidays studio events and book a skillcation holiday to coincide with one of their workshops. Making your own natural perfumes, whittling a spoon from locally sourced woods or creating an eco-friendly bag from old beach inflatables are just some of the courses on offer this Spring. Plus you get to stay in one of their perfectly formed Tiny Homes with cosy log burner.

3. Get Fit, for Charity...

Train for Walk the Wight – start with a good long beach walk and then move on to the downs for a longer ramble. Or start with the flat walks along the former railway tracks – the ones from Cowes to Newport and from Shide to Sandown are the most popular. Build up gradually and it will come naturally by the time May comes around. Plus you raise money for the Island’s hospice

4. Eat Healthy, Support Local Producers...

Arrange a regular order from Living Larder for when you’re staying on the Isle of Wight – better still, if you live here, get one every week. Your veggies will be freshly hand-picked on the day of your delivery and each box has a weekly recipe card with tried and tested family favourites from owners Aimee and Will. Make sure to pick up some Isle of Wight Cheeses too –lovely soft cheeses and Gallybagger cheddar from the Isle of Wight Cheese Company and award winning cheddar, Gouda, Caerphilly, and Feta and Halloumi style cheeses from Briddlesford Lodge Farm.

5. Invest in You...

Make that promise to invest in some 'me' time this year - start by booking a yoga retreat at Nettlecombe Farm. Set in the rolling countryside around the pretty village of Whitwell, your yoga retreat from March 29th to 31st includes yoga sessions on Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning and afternoon, plus all meals, bedding and towels and all yoga equipment. Spa treatments are available at the farm and there are pilates and yoga sessions throughout the week if you want a longer break.
