Right on the beach at Appley with far reaching views across the Solent to the mainland, Three Buoys restaurant has a light New England style interior with several tables on the balcony. Open for lunch or dinner, and 12 to 9pm on Sundays, it’s above the beach café at Appley Park.


Overlooking the sands of Ryde Beach, which at low tide reach seawards for almost a mile, Three Buoys is at the entrance to Appley Park with large car park to the rear. Pretty beach huts line the coastal pathway here that leads past the picturesque Appley Tower to Puckpool in the East.

The menu features local Kemphill Beef, especially in their Sunday roasts, and there’s a Mediterranean/fusion flavour to their dishes. You even have a vegan menu and a gluten free menu. There’s a good list of cocktails and a range reasonably priced wines, Chapel Down’s Curious Brew English lager is on draught and there are bottled beers, ciders and soft drinks.

Three Buoys serve Jaspers Coffee from a small bespoke roastery in nearby Brading who roast high quality single origin arabica beans from around the world. And you can buy 250g bags of beans at the restaurant to have that quality espresso experience at home.

A family run business by island-born Tim Foster and his wife Emma, the team of chefs is led by Scott Buckley who has passion for good quality local produce and is often out and about foraging in the local area for the specials board.
