This Summer sees the return of the Wight Proms to Northwood House in Cowes, from Thursday 19th August to Sunday 22nd August 

What is 'The Wight Proms'?

  • The annual open-air festival at Northwood House in Cowes which launched in 2018, celebrating comedy, musical theatre and classical music, and featuring red squirrels and picnic hampers.
  • The 4-day festival will take place on 19-22 August in the grounds of Northwood House, the grade II* listed Georgian manor house
  • There has never before been a music festival like this on the IOW, catering to lovers of both classical music and musical theatre, as well as comedy.
  • Wight Proms are delighted to be offering an exciting line-up of Comedy, Musical Theatre, Opera and The Proms.

Thursday 19th August - Isle of Opera

This gala will showcase some of the best-loved opera arias, transporting you to the world of Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and many more. Hosted by broadcaster and Scala Radio presenter PENNY SMITH, and featuring soprano Katherine Blumenthal, mezzo Maggie Cooper, tenor Jack Dolan and baritone Håkan Vramsmo, accompanied by pianist James Longford and cellist Nina Plapp.

Friday 20th August - A Wight Laugh

Comedy night brings internationally renowned comedians to Cowes for One Night Only! Starring comedy legends to be announced soon... Plus live music from the island's very own The Rockafellas before and after the main show, so gates will stay open late.

Saturday 21st August - Wight at the Musicals

Be transported to the world of musical theatre; bringing you some of the best-known and popular songs from the West End and Broadway.

Sunday 22nd August - Last Wight of the Proms

The weekend finale is celebration of British music and flag-waving, including Pomp & Circumstance, Jerusalem and many more. Starring chart-topping soprano Joanna Forest and the Wight Proms Concert Orchestra, conducted by the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra's Jonathan Butcher.
