Red Jet Suspension Info for Customers

From Saturday 18 April our Red Jet service will be temporarily suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to your journeys.

Whilst this extremely tough decision was made due to the ongoing reduction in demand, and the need to maintain the resilience of our lifeline ferry service, we recognise that some customers still need to travel with us for essential reasons and will be affected by this change.

To assist you in continuing to travel via our East Cowes <> Southampton route we have put a number of options in place to support you.

Please identify which category applies to you, and follow the instructions below:

Season Ticket Holders

You should already have received an email from us on 14 April 2020 outlining your options and how we can assist you with options for the vehicle ferry.

If you still haven't received this, please email Customer Services and let them know you are a Season Ticket Holder, and ask them to re-send the information.

NHS Patient Travel

We have made some temporary changes to our options for eligible Isle of Wight residents who have an NHS medical appointment in Southampton, that need to travel during the COVID-19 situation.

Other Essential Travellers with access to a car

We recognise that a number of our Red Jet customers currently using the service for essential reasons will have also been affected by the suspension. To ease the disruption to your travel routine we would like to offer you the option to bring your vehicle across on the ferry, as a special fare of £14.50 return.

If this is of interest please complete the form at the bottom of this page, and a member of our team will be in touch to assist you.

Please note: You may need to provide supporting evidence of recent essential travel on the Red Jet service, in the form of a proof of purchase history or similar. If you can provide something now, this can be uploaded along with your details when you complete the form.

Unable to travel in a vehicle?

Customers without access to a car, or unable to travel by vehicle from 18 April may continue to travel as foot passengers on the Vehicle Ferry using their season ticket or our other, regular foot passenger ticket types.

Please note that some of our current sailings are "Stay in Vehicle" type and require all passengers to remain in a vehicle. If you choose to travel with us on foot on one of these sailings, you will need to use our mini-bus service and remain on the vehicle deck.

You can learn more about this service on our COVID-19 FAQs page and the "Stay in Vehicle" sailings are updated daily on our service status page.

Please note that in order to facilitate social distancing rules whilst complying with MCA rules for these sailing types, we are limited to 5 foot passengers using our mini-bus service per crossing at this time. For this reason, and to avoid any disappointment in being able to sail, we highly recommend travelling in your own vehicle during these crossing types.
