Light meets dark this October on the Isle of Wight

Thu, Oct 17 2019

Red Funnel Ferries is supporting the ultimate light meets dark activities on the Isle of Wight this Autumn, with activities for all the family to enjoy the ultimate get-away to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali and Halloween.

Festival of Light inspired by Diwali

Bringing the festival of Diwali into a new age, Robin Hill is hosting stunning sound and light displays on 1 & 2 November. The show is an epic Electro-Light circus featuring light tricks, acrobatics and circus skills alongside an ancient illuminated woodland and popular Holi Powder Arena. Red Funnel is offering 20% off vehicle ferry travel with admission tickets when booking together as a package deal.

For more of a fright, Blackgang Chine has curated Terror Island running on selected nights from 19 October – 2 November. It will host epic scare attractions, new street food options and a bar serving a selection of drinks and Mermaid Gin cocktails. For more information and a breakdown of the scare attractions on offer, visit the Terror Island website https://terrorisland.co.uk/. Red Funnel is offering a ferry discount for those travelling to Terror Island.

To continue the Halloween horror with the kids, visit Rumpus Mansion at Blackgang Chine for a live performance from ghostly characters running from 19– 27 October. Frights & Sprites offers plenty of Halloween themed activities including crafting, a boo maze, and a Halloween quest to keep little ones occupied. Red Funnel is once again offering 20% off vehicle ferry travel with admission tickets. Tickets include unlimited seven day returns and access to all of Blackgang Chine’s fantastic rides and attractions.

On Halloween night itself, Isle of Wight steam railway will be running a ‘Train of Fright’ at a specially themed werewolf event. Join in the fancy-dress fun and take a trip on the ‘ghost train’ through the deserted night-time countryside of the Island. For tickets and more information visit the website, https://www.iwsteamrailway.co.uk/events/halloween-fright-night.aspx.
