Last chance for nominations for the 'Red Funnel Isle of wight Awards'

Fri, Oct 25 2019

There’s just a week left for businesses to nominate themselves for the Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards.

Shining a spotlight on the Isle of Wight, the awards will celebrate all that is great about the Island and recognise the diverse and wonderful places to go, stay and eat.

The revamped Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards features a new set of simplified categories that will reward even more businesses than ever before and bring the awards in line with nationally recognised awards. It also has several new award categories, including ‘Best Place for Dogs’, ‘Greenest Business’ and ‘Best Newcomer’ for newly emerged tourism businesses. Three winners in each category will be recognised with Gold, Silver and Bronze positions.

Businesses have until Friday 1 November to get their nominations in for up to three categories via Red Funnel’s website: www.redfunnel.co.uk/awards

From 8 November, voting will be open to the public, allowing visitors, locals and Islanders to have their say in who they think should take the top spot. The public vote will close in early 2020. The top three nominees in each category, as voted for by the public, will then be reviewed by a panel of expert judges to decide the Gold, Silver and Bronze ranking. The judging panel will be announced at a later date.

The overall winners will be revealed at a celebratory awards ceremony in March 2020.

Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said: “We’ve already had a great response to our revamped ‘Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards’, and there’s still time for businesses to apply. There are more categories to choose from this year, providing even more opportunity to celebrate and showcase what the Isle of Wight has to offer. The public is definitely going to have a tough job deciding the top three in each category; I wish all the entrants the best of luck!”
