4th President’s Award for Occupational Health & Safety

15-05-2014 For the fourth year running, Red Funnel has received the prestigious President’s Award for Occupation Health and Safety at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards 2014.

The award is presented to companies that have demonstrated a continued dedication to health and safety in the work place. Red Funnel is delighted to receive the prestigious award for the fourth year after achieving 13 consecutive gold awards over the past 13 years.

Kevin George, CEO at Red Funnel, who attended the awards ceremony in Birmingham on 14 May, said: “Red Funnel is incredibly proud of this award which I have accepted on behalf of all our staff. The safety of our customers and staff is, and will remain, at the heart of everything that we do and it is a responsibility which we take incredibly seriously.”

The RoSPA Awards marks the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK, dating back 58 years. The scheme was formed to recognise and reward commitment to accident and ill health prevention by businesses and organisations of all types and sizes, both from the UK and abroad.

Bronze, silver, or gold merits are awarded across 20 categories, following careful scrutiny of the entrants’ accident records and health and safety management systems, along with leadership and involvement of the workforce in policy making.
