See Elkie Brooks during Isle of Wight holiday

An Isle of Wight holiday next January could feature a show by Elkie Brooks.

The veteran performer will be singing live on stage at the Medina Theatre in Newport on January 29th 2011, marking her 50th anniversary in showbiz.

She is perhaps best-known for a string of hits which were released in the 1970s, including Pearl's a Singer, Sunshine after the Rain and Don't Cry Out Loud.

The Salford-born star, who turned 65 earlier this year, has continued to release new music throughout her enduring career, with the single Powerless and the record of the same name both coming out earlier this year.

People on Isle of Wight holidays can book tickets in advance for the show by contacting the venue, with the gig set to get started at 19:30 GMT.

Shortly after Brooks performs on the island, Paul Jones will be bringing The Blues Band to play at the Medina Theatre on February 4th.
