Robin Hill to wow half-term visitors

Robin Hill Adventure Park & Gardens could be a major attraction for families heading to the Isle of Wight over the coming February half-term, with the park to play host to a spectacular display of "light, sound and colour" as part of the annual Chinese New Year celebrations.

Visitors will be treated to a strong sense of the Orient when heading down over the next few weeks, with celebrations running from February 16th to 24th.

The park's new 'Electric Woods' feature will aim to capture the spirit of Chinese New Year throughout the day, but it is after dark when the venue really comes to life, as lanterns, flags and the area's many features will set the woodlands ablaze with colour.

An oriental menu will also be available for guests at the woodland's ponds, with an array of Chinese teas and fortune cookies also on offer to help revellers bring in the Year of the Snake in style.

Event manager Darren Cool said: "It's a colourful spectacle of sound and light to celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year and to help us look forward to the coming of spring.

"It will certainly give something bright and cheerful in one of the dullest months of the calendar."

Set to open every day from 10:00 until 20:00 GMT, the park is sure to be a treat for kids of all ages - and that includes parents.

Elsewhere, visitors planning a getaway to the Isle of Wight over the coming weeks might also like to check out a blues night that is being held at Quay Arts Sea on February 1st.

Blues at the Quay will feature renowned musician Marcus Bonafanti and a number of supporting acts, and tickets will cost £10 in advance and £12 on the night.

Bonafanti was nominated for a number of titles at the recent British Blues Awards 2012, including Best Male Vocalist, Best Acoustic Guitarist and Best Original Song.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801526620-ADNFCR
