Robin Hill to celebrate Chinese New Year

The beautiful woods that make Robin Park such a great adventure attraction for the Isle of Wight will be transformed next month with electric lighting, themed colour and sound in order to recognise Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year is actually taking place at the end of January in 2014, but the popular theme park will be honouring the event from February 14th until the 23rd.

Visitors can enjoy the stunning visual and aural effects from 5pm at dusk until 9pm in the evening, as they journey into the centre of the woodland in the company of a 12 metre dragon.

Once they reach the very centre of the woodland, they will be invited to encounter the Spirit of the Orient, a performance that tells the story of the Mythical Archer and the Ten Suns.

But the fun doesn't stop there, with an astonishing Bird of Prey show featuring hawks, eagles and vultures set to amaze and astound the kids.

Carry on the Chinese traditions by partaking in an authentic tea sampling session inside the tea house, before enjoying a full Eastern-style menu of food, complete with lessons on how to use chopsticks.

To finish, attendees will be given fortune cookies and offered the opportunity to experience genuine oriental entertainment in the form of lion dance and eastern music.

The action is all taking place around the beautiful Golden Oriole bridge and its extraordinary cascading golden waterfall, which will be a central feature for the celebrations.

Those unable to attend this particular event should keep their eye on the Robin Hill calendar as other similar Electric Wood festivities are planned for later in the year.

Robin Hill is one of the most popular family attractions on the Isle of Wight, featuring a theme park with rollercoasters as well as an extensive wood to explore.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801682692-ADNFCR
