Off-road cycling at Brook & Compton Downs

Sporty visitors to the Isle of Wight in June might like to head along to this year's Brook & Compton Downs: Off road cycle ride, which will be taking place on the 8th.

Kicking off at 10:00 BST and running through until 12:30, the event will cover ten miles of off road terrain in the vicinity of Mottistone, Brook, Compton and Freshwater Bay.

Free to head along to, visitors are encouraged to sign up in advance and bring their own cycling gear in order to take part, with the ride getting underway from the Freshwater Cliffs chalk car park.

Suitably for riders of all ages, guests are advised that certain sections of the route will include steep inclines and some areas can be extremely muddy if the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Elsewhere, sports fans who prefer a more sedate getaway might like to check out the annual Round the Island yacht race that will be taking place on June 1st from the comfort of the Needles Old Battery in Alum Bay.

Guests are being offered a slap-up breakfast at the site until 11:00, as well as the perfect place to view the race as it unfolds.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801560462-ADNFCR
