Isle of Wight spot 'has magnificent views'
Tue 28 Sep 2010
People on Isle of Wight holidays have been advised to head to a spot on the island which has been described as having "magnificent views".
According to Matt and Cat of the Isle of Wight Eating out Guide, Culver Down offers visitors the chance to look across the Solent to the mainland, or to watch meteor showers lying on your back.
"The southern side of the chalky promontory has equally interesting geology; the red and white cliffs tower above and the beach is littered with fossils," they said.
Matt and Cat pointed out that the Yaverland Kiosk, located close to the most easterly point of the island, is also worth a visit for a hearty lunch, with Cat's mother even proclaiming the rock cakes to be the finest on the Isle of Wight.
Tourists on Isle of Wight holidays who want to follow in the footsteps of the reviewers will find lots to do in Yaverland, such as windsurfing and other watersports, while there is a zoo and a dinosaur museum within a short walk of the beach.
