Isle of Wight museum 'bursting with fossils'
Mon 6 Sep 2010
Tourists on Isle of Wight holidays this year have been pointed towards two museums to check out during their time on the island.
Culture 24 has singled out various destinations around the south-east of the country as part of its Year of the Museum, with Dinosaur Isle named as one of the top children's attractions in the region.
"This museum is bursting with fossils and bones and offers guided fossil hunts and other hands on activities for kids," it was noted.
The other Isle of Wight spot picked out by Culture 24 was Osborne House, a former holiday home of Queen Victoria who stayed at the manor during her breaks on the island.
Families on Isle of Wight holidays were particularly advised to head to the venue in order to check out its "spectacular views across the Solent".
On November 20th and 21st 2010 Osborne House will be offering visitors a look into Christmas in the Victorian era, with guests able to try their hand at old pastimes such as hoopla.
