Isle of Wight holiday 'could include Ryde Lantern Parade'

Tourists have been advised to book an Isle of Wight holiday in order to coincide with an event on the island taking place this December.

Ryde Lantern Parade will be held on the 5th of the month and has been singled out by Visit South East England as one of the top attractions the region has to offer in the next three months.

"The Ryde Lantern Parade sees thousands of lights, lanterns, music and costumes, all led by the Carnival Queen and drawn to a close with a magnificent firework display," it commented.

Tourists on Isle of Wight holidays are advised to head to Ryde for a 10:00 GMT start, with attractions taking place throughout the day until 19:00 GMT.

It could be a perfect destination for families with young children, as Father Christmas will be there in his grotto, so youngsters can request their presents from the man himself.

Ryde's numerous shops will be staying open late on the day.
