Isle of Wight holiday could feature badger-spotting

Tourists taking Isle of Wight holidays may be able to spot a badger during their stay on the island.

A group of the animals have been photographed in the gardens of the Enchanted Manor hotel, which is located near Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.

Hotelier Maggie Hilton explained that the family of badgers have a special preference for their food, which they generally turn up to eat at around 21:00 BST.

"We started putting leftover scraps from breakfast out for the badgers," she said.

"They would grab most of the food and run away to eat it but, strangely, they would stay to eat the cornflakes."

As a result, Kellogg's has promised to supply the hotel with free cornflakes to feed to the badgers.

Last year, the Enchanted Manor hotel won a prize for being the best guest accommodation and hospitality at the Chamber of Commerce Awards.

It is also one of the highest-ranked hotels on the consumer website Trip Advisor.
