Isle of Wight exhibition 'is great chance to learn about island's past'

A free exhibition on the Isle of Wight has been described as a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the island.

George Brown, Isle of Wight Council cabinet member for the economy, tourism, leisure, planning and property, praised Isle of Wight museum Dinosaur Isle for opening up the Blast from the Past exhibition for free next month.

On October 16th 2010, tourists on Isle of Wight holidays will be able to enter the venue for no cost and check out dinosaur fossils and various tools from the Bronze Age, Roman and Medieval eras.

"People are also invited to bring along their own interesting finds for identification by palaeontologists and archaeologists who will be at the museum throughout the day," commented the Isle of Wight Council.

Dinosaur Isle was set up with £2.7 million of lottery funding and allows visitors to view the remains of creatures such as the seven-metre long Megalosaurus, the Eotyrannus and the Neovenator. ADNFCR-3083-ID-800081924-ADNFCR
