Isle of Wight band nominated for award
Thu 18 Feb 2010
Music fans may be keen to book a ferry to the Isle of Wight to see some rising stars playing on home soil.
The island is perhaps best known in the music fraternity for the Isle of Wight Festival, an event that attracts some of the biggest names in music every year.
However, one local band called Goodbye Stereo appear to be keen to join the music elite and are already making quite a name for themselves.
The group have been nominated for a gong at this year's Emerging Talent Awards on the strength of their brand of indie-rock.
Goodbye Stereo is fronted by Sam Woodford on guitar and vocals, while Danny Colson plays a second guitar.
The line-up is completed by bass guitarist Craig Egerton-Read and Danny Knox on drums.
VentnorBlog has already been keen to praise the Isle of Wight-based band since news of their award nomination broke.
"We're big fans of the four-piece who, since emerging onto the island music scene, have gone from strength to strength," it commented.
