Island Walk for Prostate Cancer

Island Walk for Prostate Cancer

The Isle of Wight is one of the best places in the UK with stunning scenery and a patchwork of rolling fields in various shades of emerald, entwined with picturesque hedged lanes and the well-worn pathways of ramblers.

If you fancy walking for a good cause, be sure to sign up for the 6th annual island Walk for Prostate Cancer, which aims to raise funds and awareness for the disease with a scenic walk around the west of the island.

Participants can either bring the suggested donation of £5 for the admirable cause or print off a sponsorship form and see how much they can raise. Those feeling brave are encouraged to wear their underpants on the outside of their trousers. If it helps, think of yourself as a superhero!

The wander starts at 11am, with the proposed meeting point being River Road car park in Yarmouth.

From there, the route will extend along a coastal path with views of the azure seas and the Isle of Wight's characteristic coastline before looping down through Fort Victoria Country Park in Brambles and the vast open area that is Colwell Bay.

The path then continues through the quintessentially Isle of Wight towns of Totland and Freshwater before returning to Yarmouth along the Causeway. It is estimated that the walk will take three hours to complete.

So if you fancy experiencing some of the isle's stunning scenery while giving your legs a good workout and raising money for a truly excellent cause, this is the event for you.

Dogs and children are invited if you are on the Isle of Wight with family and you're sure to make friends by walking in a group.

If this doesn't appeal, the isle has an exhaustive collection of beautiful walks, including the all-famous Tennyson Trail.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801697044-ADNFCR
