Celebrate the music of Johnny Cash this weekend

This week has great significance for Johnny Cash fans, as it marks the tenth anniversary of his death.

Indeed, the iconic country singer-songwriter passed away on September 12th 2003 and there are a number of events taking place around the UK over the coming days to celebrate his influence on music all over the world.

Anyone who is holidaying on the Isle of Wight this weekend will not want to miss the fantastic Johnny Cash tribute act playing at the Shanklin Theatre on September 14th, with the band set to wow crowds with hits from the five decades he was active in music.

The Johnny Cash Roadshow will make you feel as though the man himself is performing in front of you, with the fantastic Clive John making for a very convincing Cash.

If you never got a chance to see the US singer play live, then attending this show is a must, as it features the UK's number one tribute outfit and you'll hear all of the Man In Black's hits in the comfortable and plush surroundings of the Shanklin Theatre.

Even if you've got the kids with you, it is the perfect opportunity to culture them and introduce them to a new style of music.

The Johnny Cash Roadshow promises to keep the memory of the superstar alive, with the show's website stating: "This is no ordinary concert, you will be treated to a feast of sound and vision with the band closely replicating the unmistakable sound of Johnny Cash accompanied with a visual backdrop containing hundreds of evocative images and clips taken during his lifetime."

Even non-Cash fans will agree that it sounds pretty exciting, and it's not too pricey to attend either, with tickets costing just £18. When you think about how much some people pay to see top-class acts in this day and age, this is very decent.

The show is the only one of its kind in Britain to be endorsed by the Cash family, which is likely to be because of its fantastic representation of Cash's music throughout the ages. Indeed, Caitlin Crowell - the country singer's granddaughter - claimed that "Clive captures my grandfather just as he was" and the production is "absolutely authentic to the point where it felt as if it wasn't a tribute". High praise indeed from someone who was related to Cash.

It has also been recommended by a number of major venues, including the Grand Opera House in York which described it as a "hit" and the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre, which stated it would have been a "top billing" had it taken to the stage in Las Vegas.

As well as hits like Walk the Line and Ring of Fire, attendees can expect to hear renditions of the singer's most-loved songs, including Johnny and June duet Long Legged Guitar Pickin' Man.

If the show is up your street, then call up the box office at the Shanklin Theatre to find out more about how you could get your hands on tickets. Be speedy though, as they are likely to get snapped up quickly.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801637573-ADNFCR
