Attend Powerboat Festival during Isle of Wight holiday
Fri 27 Aug 2010
Tourists who are taking Isle of Wight holidays this weekend can head to the British Powerboat Festival during their time on the island.
With this weekend being the last bank holiday break of the summer, many people are likely to be packing their bags and heading off for a bit of sunshine before autumn closes in.
Cowes on the Isle of Wight will be hosting the British Powerboat Festival until August 30th 2010, with the race village at Cowes Yacht Haven the hub for all the events.
This year, the 50th anniversary of the first ever powerboat race at Cowes is being marked.
The highlight of the bash could well be a fireworks display on Sunday night to close the event, with tickets available in advance for £21 for the night's entertainment.
People on Isle of Wight holidays heading to Cowes to see the British Powerboat Festival can also check out the nearby Northwood House and Park while they are in the town.
