Free training sessions available at RIBEX

People heading to the Isle of Wight for RIBEX will have the opportunity to test their skills on the water.

The show dedicated to rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) is scheduled to take place at Cowes Yacht Haven on the Isle of Wight from May 7th-9th 2010.

As well as viewing the latest boats from all the leading manufacturers, people attending RIBEX will be able to learn how to drive a RIB.

The RYA will have two RIBs at the show, which they will use to give free 30-minute training sessions to people new to the world of boating.

Andrew Norton, motor cruising projects manager for the RYA, said the classes would help people to realise what driving a RIB is really like.

He added: "Training is vital for anyone getting out on the water, not only from a safety point of view but also so they can fully enjoy the fun."

Other attractions at RIBEX include a race between Bear Grylls and the editor of RIB International Magazine, Hugo Montgomery-Swan, and a live music event featuring Seth Lakeman.ADNFCR-3083-ID-19710137-ADNFCR
